On the afternoon of May 21, 2026, Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE) held a meeting and cooperation discussion with a delegation from the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.

The RELO delegation included Mr. Fay David George, Director of RELO, and Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, RELO Program Coordinator.
Representing the University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Nguyen, Vice Rector, on behalf of the University's leadership, together with leaders of various departments and faculties, including deans, vice deans, and representatives from administrative offices, as well as lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
In his welcoming remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Nguyen, Vice Rector, expressed his pleasure in receiving the RELO delegation. He emphasized that, as part of its development and internationalization strategy, the University consistently promotes international cooperation, particularly in training, professional development, and enhancing English language proficiency for lecturers, teachers, and students. He further stated that the University looks forward to strengthening its partnership with RELO to expand opportunities for academic exchange, implement professional support programs, gain access to international educational resources, and develop practical collaborative initiatives that contribute to improving educational quality and advancing the internationalization of higher education.

During the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, provided an overview of the collaborative journey and the practical activities implemented jointly with RELO and the U.S. Embassy in recent years. Building on these positive achievements, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding future cooperation, focusing on English teacher training and professional development, co-creation of educational materials, and the organization of large-scale academic conferences for lecturers, students, and local school teachers.
At the meeting, Mr. Fay David George, Director of RELO, presented a program exchange certificate to Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. He also introduced the American English resource platform and the OPEN Scholarship Program opportunities available to English language teachers.
