On December 12, 2020, Thai Nguyen University of Education – Thai Nguyen University held the International Conference on Teacher Education Renovation 2020 with the topic: Teacher Competencies for Education 4.0.

The Organizing Committee has received nearly 80 articles from scientists from Australian, Taiwanese universities and more than 20 universities and colleges in Vietnam such as Thai Nguyen University, Ha Noi National University, Can Tho University, Dong Thap University, Da Nang University of Education, Saigon University, Hung Vuong University, Hanoi University of Education, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Bac Lieu University, Tay Bac University, Nam Dinh College of Education, Hanoi National University of Sports, Hanoi Capital University, University of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Thu Dau Mot University, Quy Nhon University, National Defense Academy, An Giang University, Quang Nam University, Quang Binh University, Hue University of Education, Hai Phong University, Hong Duc University, ...

Adapting to the complicated evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic, with the consent of the Director of Thai Nguyen University and the direction of the Standing Committee, the University Boards, the seminar took place online with many domestic and international online spots.

Under the chairmanship of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Duc Nguyen - the TNUE Vice-Rector, the seminar listened to 5 presentations focusing on defining the competencies of teachers in Education 4.0, in which emphasis on soft skills, judgmental competence, critical thinking, quantitative thinking, adaptive capacity, failure-based experiential teaching, online learning assessment, STEM education and technology integration in teaching ... The report of the Australian research team focuses on assessing the concept of "learning journey" and "life experience" of learners throughout the online learning process. Project-based teaching methods are very important in Education 4.0. The issue of integrating soft skills development into the teaching curriculum was also actively discussed. Besides, delegates attending the seminar also discussed the change in the role of the teacher, the change in teaching theory to be suitable for Education 4.0 (behavioral theory, constructivism, and connection theory in teaching), in which soft skills, online interaction between learners, and learning resources are very important. Many lively exchanges and discussions from more than 80 participants from the online spots contributed to clarifying the challenges and trends for the implementation of Education 4.0 in Vietnam.

“Proposed a 4.0 school model in Vietnam and its enforcement conditions- Perspectives from Australia based on the Steiner school example. "
