Thai Nguyen University of Education Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Vientiane–Hanoi Friendship Technical and
Vocational College, Lao PDR
Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE), under Thai Nguyen University, held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vientiane–Hanoi Friendship Technical and Vocational College of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). The meeting marked an important milestone in strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two institutions, enhancing connectivity and academic exchange, and providing a foundation for the implementation of specific collaborative activities in education and training, scientific research, and technology transfer.
Overview of the working session
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of Thai Nguyen University of Education were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong, Rector of the University; representatives of the leadership of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Administration and Personnel, the Faculty of Philology, and the Center for International Cooperation and Vietnamese Language Education, together with staff responsible for international cooperation activities.
On behalf of Vientiane–Hanoi Friendship Technical and Vocational College were Mr. Khamdy BOUTTHAKHANH, President and Head of the Delegation; Mr. Somlith NISTHAXAY, Vice President; Mr. Sonexay PHANTHAVONG, Vice President; Mr. Phengthavy SYPHOXAY, Head of the Office of Administration and Personnel; Mr. Khamla SOULIYADETH, Head of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; and Ms. Outsa PHOMPHIPHAK, Deputy Head of the Office of Academic Affairs.
In his welcoming remarks to the delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong, Rector of Thai Nguyen University of Education, affirmed that the University has always attached great importance to expanding cooperation with educational institutions in the Lao PDR. Based on the University's strengths in education and training, professional development, scientific research, Vietnamese language education, and international cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong expressed his hope that the two institutions would jointly develop appropriate and practical cooperation programmes. He also expressed his confidence that the Memorandum of Understanding would provide a solid foundation for promoting long-term and effective cooperation between the two institutions.

Mr. Khamdy BOUTTHAKHANH, President of Vientiane–Hanoi Friendship Technical and Vocational College, sincerely thanked Thai Nguyen University of Education for its warm and thoughtful reception. He highly appreciated the University's reputation, capacity in education and training and scientific research, as well as its experience in international cooperation. He also expressed his desire for the two institutions to strengthen exchanges and share experience in education and training, staff development, scientific research, and the implementation of professional activities in accordance with practical needs.

During the working session, representatives of the leadership and specialised units of the two institutions exchanged views and discussed directions and opportunities for cooperation in education and training, scientific research, technology transfer, professional development, and exchanges of administrators, lecturers, and learners. The two sides agreed to build on the strengths of each institution and strengthen connections among their respective offices, faculties, and specialised centres in order to gradually translate the contents of the MOU into concrete cooperative activities following its signing.

In the spirit of friendship, equality, and mutual development, Assoc. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding marks a new stage in the relationship between Thai Nguyen University of Education and Vientiane–Hanoi Friendship Technical and Vocational College, laying the groundwork for cooperation activities to become increasingly substantive, practical, and effective. At the same time, it contributes to further strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general, and between educational institutions of the two countries in particular.
