To promote international cooperation in training and scientific research—particularly in joint-degree programs and Vietnamese language education for foreigners—from June 5 to June 9, 2025, a delegation from Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong, Rector of the university, paid a visit to two leading higher education institutions in Taiwan (China): National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Feng Chia University.
Strengthening Ties with Feng Chia University
At Feng Chia University, the delegation held a productive working session with the university’s leadership, including Prof. Wei Wang, President of Feng Chia University, the Director of International Cooperation, and leaders of academic departments. Both sides discussed and agreed upon several meaningful and practical areas of collaboration such as joint international publications, co-hosting international scientific conferences, implementing joint-degree programs, and developing as well as administering Vietnamese language proficiency tests for international students.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong highly appreciated Feng Chia University’s cooperation and reaffirmed TNUE’s commitment to accompanying its partner in realizing these initiatives. On this occasion, the Rector of TNUE extended a formal invitation to Feng Chia University’s leadership to visit Vietnam, renew the Memorandum of Understanding, and participate in TNUE’s 60th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for late 2026.
Expanding Joint-Degree Programs with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
Continuing the mission, the delegation visited National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University—one of Taiwan’s most prestigious centers for training and research. Here, they met with Mr. Jiun Tai Chen, Dean of the School of Science, along with leaders of the Departments of Mathematics and Physics. Discussions centered on potential collaboration in implementing master’s joint-degree programs in Mathematics and Physics, co-publishing international research, co-organizing international conferences, and offering Vietnamese language proficiency training and examinations for international students.
Notably, during this meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong and Prof. Jiun Tai Chen officially signed two significant Memoranda of Understanding on joint master’s programs in Mathematics and Physics. These agreements not only marked a new milestone in bilateral cooperation but also created opportunities for students from both institutions to access internationally accredited curricula, strengthen their expertise, and enhance global integration.
Laying a Solid Foundation for Long-Term Partnership
The working visit to Taiwan concluded with many positive outcomes, opening new opportunities in training, research, and international academic exchange. The signed agreements and discussions are expected to enrich TNUE’s international cooperation activities, steadily improve the quality of training, and provide faculty and students with access to a modern, professional learning and research environment.
