On July 23, 2025, Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE) welcomed and worked with a delegation from Lao teacher training colleges, marking a key activity to reinforce and expand strategic cooperation in teacher education.

TNUE leaders, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Tran Phuong – Party Secretary and Chair of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Xuan Truong – Rector, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Quang Tan – Vice Rector, joined the meeting alongside representatives from relevant faculties and departments. The Lao delegation comprised leaders from six teacher training colleges: Dongkhamxang, Luang Prabang, Savannakhet, Pakse, Namtha, and Khangkhai.

In his welcome speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Tran Phuong stressed the significance of the visit in the context of deepening Vietnam–Laos educational cooperation. He affirmed TNUE’s commitment to supporting Lao institutions in training and capacity building for teachers and lecturers, fostering high-quality scientific research, and contributing to education development in both countries. He expressed confidence that the partnership would grow stronger, effectively supporting human resource development in Laos and further nurturing the special Vietnam–Laos friendship.

During the discussion, Rector Mai Xuan Truong introduced TNUE’s scholarship policies for Lao students and proposed future collaboration in training, professional development, and joint research. Lao representatives appreciated TNUE’s warm hospitality, strong academic environment, and modern facilities. They suggested cooperation in areas such as:

Sending Lao students to study Vietnamese, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs;

Faculty exchanges and professional development;

Participation and co-hosting of international conferences on teacher education;

Joint training courses on STEM education, pedagogy, and AI in teaching;

Summer camps for students in Laos and Vietnam.

The working session concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between TNUE and Luang Prabang Teacher Training College, underscoring a shared commitment to concrete and long-term cooperation. Both sides exchanged souvenirs, took group photos, and pledged to further strengthen the special Vietnam–Laos friendship.

The program not only opened practical opportunities for academic collaboration but also deepened the traditional ties between the two nations, reaffirming TNUE’s position as a leading and dynamic teacher training institution in international cooperation.
