On May 26, 2023, Dr. Kham Tan Som Vong, Cultural and Educational Counselor of Lao PDR in Vietnam, attended Graduation Ceremony for new graduates and met TNUE leaders.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Mai Xuan Truong, Rector emphasized that training and fostering high-quality human resources for Lao PDR is one of the strategic tasks of the University in recent years. From 2022 to 2023, TNUE recruited 138 new Laotian students, organized training courses for more than 200 Laotian students and nearly 90 Laotian students of other universities. Every year, Vietnamese language proficiency test is organized for 150 to 300 Lao candidates inside and outside TNUE which always cares and creates the best conditions for foreign students in general and Lao students in particular. TNUE has issued a Scholarship Policy to attract Lao students to study, including many different types of scholarships from 100% tuition exemption, dormitory fee, health insurance to partial exemption. In 2023, TNUE granted 06 scholarships worth nearly 100 million VND.

Mr. Kham Tan Som Vong expressed his gratitude for the first time visiting and working with TNUE leaders, staff, lecturers and international students; was excited with the achievements that Lao international students had achieved and sent his respectful and profound thanks to the school's leadership, staff and lecturers.
