On February 24, 2023, Ms. Jennifer Hodgson, Global Program Officer of English Language Fellow Program; Mr. Jerrold J. Frank, Director, Mr. Le Duong - Deputy Director and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Office staff of Regional English Language Office (RELO) visited Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE).
On behalf of TNUE, Assoc Prof Dr. Mai Xuan Truong, Rector; Dr. On Thi My Linh - Head of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Dr. Duong Cong Dat - Deputy Head of the Department of Training Affairs, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh - Dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages Education warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the visit.
The Regional English Office in Vietnam (RELO) is one of 25 Regional Agencies dedicated to the U.S. Department of State English Programs globally, managing and coordinating advanced support programs. Among those, English teaching capacity is the one funded by the US Government in three countries Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
During the visit and working session, the delegates attended the lesson of English expert Andrew Langley and heard reports on the teaching and program activities of the English specialist at TNUE.
Assoc Prof Dr. Mai Xuan Truong, Rector highly appreciated the teaching activities of the English expert to the educational work, creating a learning environment and foreign language communication for TNUE lecturers and students to improve their professional capacity contributing to the process of fulfilling the vision and mission of the University.
On behalf of the Regional English Office, US Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Jerrold J. Frank - Director of the Office was delighted with the results of lecturer Andrew Langley at TNUE, and promised to introduce other programs that RELO is in charge and able to support the in the near future to improve foreign language ability and international integration for lecturers and students, especially students from ethnic minorities.
Assoc Prof Dr. Mai Xuan Truong extended his thanks for the support of the Regional English Office, the English Teacher Program in the past time, and believed that there would be more cooperation and support in the near future.
