From June 3, 2023 to June 11, 2023, the delegation of Thai Nguyen University of Education (TNUE) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Tran Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council joined the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training to visit and discuss on tertiary governance models with a number of Australian universities.

Currently, Australia has 43 universities, including 39 public universities and 04 private universities. On the trip, the delegation worked with the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, University of Notre Dame, RMIT University, La Trobe University, Federation University.

The main working contents focus on university management and administration: model, organizational structure, experience in university autonomy in terms of expertise, organizational apparatus and finance. Through the exchange, the members of the delegation thoroughly understand the position and role of the University Council and the Management Board (rector, vice rectors) in the effective administration and management of a university on the recruitment process, appointment of administrators and supervision of the board; The university's diverse revenue streams are partly supported by strong government and state governments.

The delegation also worked with TEQSA, Australia's Higher Education Quality and Standards Agency, on the framework of standards for assessing university quality, assessment of higher education institutions and assessment of training programs.

About promoting cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Tran Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, representatives of TNUE leaders and managers had an exchange with representatives of leaders of La Trobe University, the Federation University in terms of lecturer, student exchange; scholarships for TNUE teachers, building international affiliate programs. The cooperation programs are initially discussed and actively supported by representatives of universities.

The experiences from the trip have helped to suggest models and ways to implement university autonomy, operate an effective tertiary governance model and promote cooperation opportunities with universities in Australia.
