On May 16, 2025, the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam hosted a conference to review the management of Lao students in the 2024–2025 academic year and outline plans for 2025–2026. The event, held in a spirit of Vietnam–Laos solidarity, underscored the two countries’ close educational cooperation.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh praised Vietnamese institutions for their support and guidance, highlighting the students’ strong academic performance and contributions to friendship and cultural exchange. She emphasized that education remains a strategic pillar of Vietnam–Laos relations and called on Lao students to make the most of this opportunity to serve their homeland in the future.

Reports presented at the event showed that more than 10,000 Lao students are currently studying in Vietnam, many achieving outstanding results in academics and extracurricular activities. Plans for the coming year focus on improving training quality, strengthening Vietnamese language teaching, and promoting cultural integration.

Representatives from universities, including Thai Nguyen University of Education, shared initiatives such as developing competency-based curricula, publishing Vietnamese textbooks, and applying technology in teaching. Several Lao students were honored for their achievements, while institutions received recognition for their contributions to bilateral educational cooperation.

The conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Laos and the shared commitment to nurturing future generations as bridges of solidarity.
